ideal saturday night:

Being anti-social, shrimping up in an hour long bubble bath, listening to Beatles vinyl and rearranging my 3rd closet. This much neglected closet is full of great stock: 80's blazers, sequined gowns and hippy dresses. Compliments of my mother, who, like myself, never throws anything away.

But aside from all the new oldies, the best rediscovery of the evening
has to be my very favorite pair of jeans from high school
and my black combat boots...

I will never ever part with them. They were absolute vitals! The first pair of jeans I actually sewed skinny and shredded. Shocked and amazed that they still fit. I don't know if it's sentimentality that is making me keep them, or the fact that I can still find a way to work them into an outfit.

Dear high school grunge phase,
I am nostalgic for you. Hang out soon?

the king lives

On my wall!

I'm perusing Ebay for various Elvis light switch covers. If you've been in my room then you'd understand that this is just what I need! He'd really go well with the Russian dolls, luchador mask, deer tape dispenser and ice cream cone bubbles.

I bought a funny red cocktail dress the other day with upside down perfume bottles all over it. I still have to do some minor altering to make it more of a strapless piece for the evening but I will post some photos of it later. Sugar Mom's for Lindsey's 25th, happy birthday missy x.

I can never help taking photos of my food. Tonight it's cinnamon raisin pb&j on 7 grain bread with apples and soy milk. Life is good.

Shattered

Here is a really interesting concept by Brock Davis: create a visual of how shatterproof objects would look if they could break. If only I could commission him to do one of my face.

They say it's your birthday

I finally got this disposable camera from 2003 developed. I thought there were a bunch of old goodies on there, but as it turns out there were just a few horrific photos of the braces stage. Such is life. I did manage to snap some of the remaining photos at Pat & John's on my birthday. I'll always be a sucker for the grainy disposable photo. Especially now that Urban Outfitters bought out the very last of the Polaroid film. Le sigh.

Birthday Wishes

My birthday rears its ugly head on the 17th and I really never know what to say when people ask what I want. So, here are some ideas.

Wonderful gifts I would adore include (but are not limited to):

Photobucket
A typewriter

A '79 Triumph Bonneville

Photobucket
a French Bulldog

Roids

Photobucket

Photobucket
Michael Jackson Russian dolls

The boots I will forever regret not bidding on :[

I figure I'll aim big and be pleasantly surprised with the reality of the situation. Randomly bid on pretty much anything on ebay and I'd probably love it. Time is a tickin kiddies.
