jenny & johnny's album is streaming on npr.org until the release on august 31st. the songs are poppy and reminiscent of rilo kiley days, but with a tad more maturity. in my humble opinion, miss lewis can successfully bounce around to any genre of music, and her boyfriend johnny can come along too. if you're in the philadelphia area then come to their show at the troc in september. they sound even better in person. listen to the album here.

owen and the rest of the lovely lads in desoto jones are playing a show at the troc balcony on august 18th, the day after my birthday! tall drinks and new songs. $12 at the door...come out and bring your dancing shoes!

some photos from diamond club and my best berlin mart trip to date! diamond club is a fancy little section at citizen's bank park that you can only get into when your mom's friend's brother at the office goes away for a week and coughs up the free tickets. albert's connection resulted in a 7th row phillies game with 30 bones on each ticket for drinks! the beer tastes better when it's free.

stumbled into a great southwestern gifts store in the berlin mart and bought a glow in the dark black scorpion necklace! the lady working had tons of tarantulas and beetles in glow in the dark globes. she told me about her monthly trips to arizona to get the bugs and how an airline will emergency land a plane if they find a rogue black scorpion in someone's luggage. she also told me about a bad thunderstorm that knocked out the power in the mart and how the only light to guide her came from those glowing creepers! i think everyone needs to barter for at least one item while at a mart so i worked over an old man for a better price on taj mahal and the animals vinyl. great success! cannot wait to go back.
