mellow yellow

finding the best of donovan on vinyl last week subconsciously inspired me to mix this nail polish color. i never see colors that appeal to me. just the same reds and browns. i dulled this bright yellow down with some white and now i love it!

the sartorialist

i love when street photographers can find people who don't look like they're trying too hard. their outfits are functional and one of a kind. the photos are just a glimpse into the life of an interesting person doing their own thing. all of these people look easy and free to me. all photos from the sartorialist.

100 strangers

several days ago a very nice street photographer asked me and owen to participate in a project called "100 strangers." we gladly obliged. he had a beautiful akita named buddha that was bigger than me! he snapped a few photos and added these kind words:

"Jillian M, 22, and Owen S, 27, are collaborators in search of creative endeavors ." Expression is the true success of the creative process," said Owen. He's the frontman for Desoto Jones ( a local band from South Jersey ) and paints in between gigs to keep his artistic energy percolating. Jillian is a care free muse spilling forth quips that are destined to become lyrics in a song exalting the qualities of that special girl." I just wanna be young for a minute," she said, "...write down all that i see and feel in my journal." Sounds like the makings of a hit song."
